X-perience

Some experiences in life you just have to write down, An different experience happened to me a month ago but im just posting it now because i had the sudden urge to share it. I worte this down as soon as i got home. This really happened. No bullshit or what ever. Please forgive my grammar and writing, I wrote this under the influence:):) This is a rough draft and this is how I want to share it, Rough and raw. Enjoy:)

It was around 1:29am. I wanted to get out. I was fed up with everything that has been happening around me. I decided to call up the boys, see if they were still up, asked them if any of them wanted to grab a beer. None of them answered. Guess I’m going to be alone tonight. I wanted to go somewhere different. Somewhere where no one knows me, somewhere where I wouldn’t bump into anyone I know. Somewhere no one would go to. I decided to go around town, looking for the oddest bar to drink in. after an hour of going around manila, I found a small pub, with cheap neon lights I front. A bucket of beer for 180. Not bad. I parked my car, checked my wallet and then went inside. It was dark, there was a karaoke machine by the side and some old drunk singing and old love song. There was a faint smell of vomit in the air. Christmas light were hung in the corners of the room. There was a small stage in front where an old drum set laid. It looked like it has been there for quite some time judging by the dust covering it. And at the side, there was a small bar, around 4-5 seat and a bartender standing at the back looking at me. “Perfect” I thought to myself. I sat down at the bar ordered a few drinks.

After a few beers and depressing thoughts a girl suddenly sat beside me, she was skinny, her chest was protruding and her legs were white and bare. She was pretty. She looked at me, I smiled politely and she said “hi”. She smiled. I could smell wine bitter scent of wine coming from her breath. She introduced herself, as I did too. Her name was Kate, she was 22. I offered to buy her a drink. She accepted. I got another bottle of beer and she got an iced tea poured into those small round glasses cheap bars would normally use. She said she had enough to consume for the night, a few hours ago she downed a bottle of cheap wine with her friends. Huh.She was smiling this time; maybe she was thinking that downing that cheap wine wasn’t a good idea although I could see she was clearly enjoying her hit. I noticed a tired look on her face and the smell of alcohol and perfume mixing faintly on her skin. As we were talking, our conversation changed from the usual petty talks to something deeper. She was telling me about her life and I was intrigued, she was opening up to a complete stranger. To me. I eagerly listened as she was talking. She said she was supposed to be in Singapore right now with some of her friends, working as a sales attendant. She wasn’t able to go because two weeks before her flight, she found out she was pregnant. When she told her boyfriend the news, he said he did not want to be any part of it and she should get it aborted. She just turned 20. Her boyfriend left her and she did not know where else to go. Her father died when she was 7 and her mom is in the province taking care of her 6 other siblings. She was the bread winner. Most of the money would come from her and to think she was the youngest in her family.

She did not want to abort her baby, so she stuck it out, working and doing chores in the house of her good friend, waiting for her baby. The father left, and did not give any support at all. When she was about to give birth, she texted her boyfriend to be there with her, her boyfriend said he was busy and he couldn’t make it.

At this point, she started to get teary eyed. She continued while rubbing the sides of her glass with her fingertips.

After she had her baby, no one was there to help her; she couldn’t stay with her friend anymore because it was too small to raise a baby there. There was already only little room left in her best friend’s house. She had to get her own place then to raise her kid. She said the area was pretty dangerous, as far as Antipolo and pretty dirty. But she had no choice. She found a job, but the pay was only enough for the baby. She had to constantly give sexual release to the land lord to convince him to let them stay without paying rent. She said “Minsan nasusuka ako sa sarili ko, pero kailangan nang baby ko, kahit hindi ko kaya sikmurahin, sisikmurahin ko para sa kanya” She did not ask help from anyone. No matter how hard it was, she had to survive for her baby to survive. “ Siya na lang importante sa akin, kakapalan ko na mukha ko kung may kailangan baby ko”. She had a few boyfriends after she gave birth; some of them gave her money and support. She did not accept any of it. “ayaw ko sinusumbatan ako kahit sa anong bagay”. But some of her boyfriends did help her out but she never asked for help. Not even once. As she was talking, I couldn’t help but think how strong this woman is. What kind of shit she has really been through, and to think there are a lot of people with the same situation or worse. They all have to force themselves to things they dislike in order to be able to live. To think that the place they live in is barely a place you can call a place to live in.

I noticed our drinks were about to finish. I asked her if she wanted another round. She did but she wanted beer this time. I called the bartender and got us two beers. I asked her what her job was as she was trying to get the last drops of her iced tea. She put down her glass slowly, she looked at the bar first, and then she looked at me and smiled. She said she was a stripper.

A reminder for all that some people do have it harder than us and we should appreciate what we have.

My little baby sis:)

Its was a rainy Sunday and I was bored. There was literally nothing to do. Cable was out, so was the net. So i decided to go shoot, no one was in the house except my lil sis so we decided to kill time. Plus I needed to practice on my portrait shots anyway. So, I transformed my bathroom into my very own "studio". Results.

Time flies by and it looks like she growin up but she'll always be my baby girl:)
You break her heart, Il break your fuking neck.

No edits in any of my photos, I dont believe in editing photos.
I believe a photo is beautiful the way it already is. Blurry or Clear. Grainy or fine. Under or Over. Its capturing that moment in that certain time, in that certain space, in that certain feeling. and Its beautiful.

Back in the game.

Wassup fuckers! miss me? yyeeaah, its been a long break for me, I kinda stopped shootin for awhile, Btw, I dint win the contest, apparently film is not that much appreciated anymore these days, its all about dddd-ddigitall, but fuck that, im stickin to film.

I dont hate Digital, I just prefer film beccaauusseeee:

1. You become more religious - for each shot you take, you pray to God that you will see something after it gets developed ; "Ave maria, pagkatapos kumuha, sana may makita"

2. The excitement and anticipation you get when your waiting to get your developed films (Saludo sa Digiprint!)

3.Nowadays, almost everyone has a dslr, runin around think theyre photographers, thinkin theyre all cool and shit. But is on automatic mode...0.o..yeap

4. You really think about the settings you have to use and angles and lighting because you dont get that many chances plus film aint cheap.

5. Its more challenging than using a Dslr

and the list goes ooonnnnn but im too lazy already. New posts comin up and hope you guys enjoy.

RE-N-TER

There's an upcoming photography contest in my school. [1st PRIZE: 3000.00!!] Been thinking about joining because Ive been really broke these past few weeks.I think I might join. These are the photos I'm submitting..some of them are from old posts, some are newly put up because i just found them hiding in some of my Cds. I played around with the color of some photos, just to make it look more presentable and "more into the feeling" if you get my drift.
Anyway, the theme is THE ENVIRONMENT (how original..ppfftt) how do we inspire people to appreciate and look after our environment? These are my Top 2 pics:

"Humans Reach"

[2]

"An Underdog called Hope"
I particularly like this one. It has a background of the city but amongst the dirt and pollution. These type of flowers that grew under a rock symblozes that there is still hope.

[ the rest ]

I dont know why, something just sparked because of this. I missed taking pictures. Its kinda like a burnt up candle lighting up again. I cleaned up my gear and Im buying anoter set of films soon. Time to suit up and shoot again:)

I, like a Dragonfly

Sometimes I get so fed up of the city. Its pollution, the noise, the Government, the politics, the leaders, the coruption and especially the MMDA...I just hate them. Our country will never rise if we leave it up to the Government and its fucked up ideals, It is us who have the power to change things, the PEOPLE, without us...the Government aint shit.

Lets just FLY.

I wish that I could fly
Into the sky
So very high
Just like a dragonfly

I'd fly above the trees
Over the seas in all degrees
To anywhere I please

Anilao 5!

The legen
dary college beach trip of 2009.

The clear blue sky, the salty ocean, the cool breezes.the ALCOHOL. grass.grass.grass.FOOD. Skippin stones and FATTIES. It was Me, Sang, Mick D, Kyle Yu and John P's happy journey to an earlier death. It was a chill trip. Only a few were developed ok, I think theres something wrong with the developing in Digiprint or I was just really trippin that day....better than none, enjoy!
