I am the Gravedigger

The Manila American Cemetary/Memorial.
My friend and I decided to go there for a shoot. It contains the largest number of graves of our military dead of World War II, a total of 17,206, most of whom lost their lives in operations in New Guinea and the Philippines.
The cemetary occupies 152 acres of land and its headstones are aligned in 11 plots forming a generally circular pattern. It was quiet and peaceful when we got there, the only thing you could hear was the brushing sounds of the wind passing through the leaves. It was disturbingly beautiful. KNARLEY.
[ All of these shots are taken with my Diana loaded with Provia50]

Some Black and Whites

It left us speechless. At one point, We just sat down to take all of it in.

The names of thousands of soldiers unfound, engraved in marble walls

Some walls have huge charts explaining battle operations used during World War II against the Japs. The vibe there was totally unexplainable. You start walking and looking around, and its like your brain wont process the thought that this much people died and to think that this was just a small small part of WWII.

"Who thought we could be so lucky?"
